Evaluation of heena & coffee |
The AP Scheduled Tribes Co-operative Finance Corporation (TRICOR) was formed for the economic development of tribes in the State.
ALC India conducted evaluation study of Coffee and Henna plantations in 5 mandals of Vishakhapatnam district
The objective of the project was to evaluate the area of 1,436 acres of coffee plantations during 07-08 and 1,235 acres of henna plantations during 06-07 and 07-08 in 5 mandals of Vishakhapatnam.
The findings of the study provided guidance and support for the effective planning and implementation of the project by TRICOR through ITDA Paderu. Similar projects can also be implemented through other ITDAs where ever feasible thus benefitting around 16,000 farmers indirectly through the study. It was recommended to have market linkages, formation of group for better bargaining power, timely supply of inputs, capacity building and financial support.
